Meaning and how to use :

This structure is used to give examples.
For example

山田さんみたいに荒々しい人と話したくない。
yamata san mitai ni araarashii hito to hanashi taku nai
I don’t want to talk to such a rude person like Yamada.

木村さんのコートみたいなのがほしい。
kimura san no koto mitai na no ga hoshii
I want a coat like Kimura’s.

高橋さんみたいな彼氏がほしい。
takabashi san mitai na kareshi ga hoshii
I want to have a boyfriend like Takahashi.

佐藤君のスマートホーンみたいのを買った。
satou kun no sumato hon mi tai no wo katu ta
I have bought a phone like Sato’s smartphone.

一郎ちゃんみたいな人は理想な恋人です。
ichirou chan mitai na hito ha risou na koibito desu
People like Ichiro are ideal lovers.

Note: In polite situation we will use 「…のような/ように」
