JLPT N2 Grammar lesson 32. Hi everyone! In this article, LearnJapanesedaily will introduce to you the JLPT N2 Grammar. Each lesson will consist of about 5 structures for you to learn step by step and have more time to practise.

Structure 156:

A(理由)。それで B(けっか)

Explanation:

A. That’s why B

For example:

父は働きすぎだ。それで病気になった。
My father works too much that’s why he gets sick.

「田中君,インフルエンザにかかったんだって。」「それで学校を休んだんだね。」
Tanaka got a flu. That’s why he took a day off from school.

Structure 157:

「A」「それが B」

Explanation:

about that thing. Used to show an unexpected outcome.

For example:

「お嬢さん、もう大学をご卒業されましたでしょう?」「それが、まだなんですよ。」
Your daughter has graduated from university, hasn’t she? (about that thing), she hasn’t (graduated yet).

Structure 158:

A(予定)。それが B (Aと異なる結果)

Explanation:

A (Plan). However B (result different from A).

For example:

たばこをやめると誓った。それが、たった三日でまた吸ってしまった。
I already quit smoking. However I relapsed to smoking on the third day.

Structure 159:

A(事情の説明)。そこで B(提案)

Explanation:

A(explain the situation). Hence B (suggest or solution)

For example:

明日は車が混むらしい。そこで我々は朝早く出発するつもりだ。
There will be a lot of traffic tomorrow. Hence, we will leave early.

「今度アメリカに旅行します。そこでお願いがあるのですが。。。」
This time I will travel to the US. Hence, I want to ask you something.

Structure 160:

A。そういえば B

Explanation:

By the way (when reminded of another thing when you’re talking about one thing).

For example:

「そういえば、田中君、元気かな?」
By the way, I’m wondering if Tanaka is doing well?

「いい家ですね。そういえば、お父様は設計士さんでしたよね。」
The house looks beautiful. By the way, your father is a architect, right?
