To express the meaning “means, understood/understand as, as,..”
Examples:
1. これから、新しい憲法は実施されるものとする。
Korekara, atarashii kenpou ha jisshi sareru mono to suru.
The new Constitution is effective from now on.
2. このことは両方が契約を認めたものとする。
Kono koto ha ryouhou ga keiyaku o mitome ta mono to suru.
This means that both sides have agreed to the contract.
3. 今黙るのは賛成するものとするよ。
Ima damaru no ha sansei suru mono to suru yo.
Now, silence will mean that you approve.
4. A:「この質問を聞くと、彼女は頷いてほほ笑んだだけですよ。」
A: `Kono shitsumon o kiku to, kanojo wa unazuite hohoenda dakedesu yo.’
A: “When I asked this question, she just nodded and gave me a smile.”
B:「そのことは正しいものとするよ。」
B: `Sono koto wa tadashī mono to suru yo.’
B: “That means it’s right.”.
5. 結婚式を行わなくても、結婚届を記入したのは夫婦になったものとする。
Kekkonshiki o okonawa naku te mo, kekkon todoke o kinyuu shi ta no ha fuufu ni natta mono to suru.
Even without doing a wedding ceremony, it is assumed that the couple who filled in the marriage notification became a couple.
