Meaning and how to use :

Describe the meaning “nothing… but/ except for”.

For example

Anata yori hoka ni kono shigoto ga dekiru hito ha nai.
Except for you, no one can do this work.

kono kurasu no naka de ha anata yori hoka ni suugaku ga tokui na hito ha i nai.
In this class there is no one good at math except for you.

hima no toki hon o yomu yori hoka ni tanoshimu koto ga nai.
In leisure time I have no hobby but reading books.

ima ha kare no kaifuku o inoru yori hoka ni dekiru koto ga nai.
Now, except for pray for his recovery, I can do nothing else.

haha yori hoka ni sono daiji na koto o tanomeru hito ha i nai.
Except for my mother, there’s no one whom I can ask them to do that work.

Note: There’s another way to say, which is 「…しか…ない」、「…以外に…ない」
