Meaning and how to use :
Expresses the meanings:
+) If used with nouns or adjectives, it means: “only” “solely” “only that” or “only way is..”
+) If used with verbs, it means:”Only that action should be done” or “in the process of doing that action”.
Examples:
親の援助のみに頼っていては自立な人にならないよ。
Oya no enjo nomi ni tayotte i te ha jiritsu na hito ni nara nai yo.
If you rely solely on your parent’s assistance you will not be a independant person.
会議の準備はもう終わりました。今ただ出席するのみです。
Kaigi no junbi ha mou owari mashi ta. Kon tada shusseki suru nomi desu.
Preparations for the meeting are done. You only need to attend now.
誰にも助けてくれないから、自分で努力のみです。
Dare ni mo tasuke te kure nai kara, jibun de doryoku nomi desu.
Because no one will help me, I can only rely on myself.
そんなに複雑な機械を直せる人はただベテランな彼のみです。
Sonnani fukuzatsu na kikai o naoseru hito ha tada beteran na kare nomi desu.

Tada souzou suru nomi desu yo. Yatte mi ta koto ha ari mase n.

+) Mostly used in literary works. For verbal communication, use だけ or ばかり
