Formation :

V-ば+…ほど
Especially with N/Aな(remove な)であればあるほど
Aい(remove い)+ければ+Aい+ほど
Vば+Vるほど

Meaning and how to use :

Along with the development of an event, another event also develops. The two events are proportional to each other; however, sometime the structure is used to express changes opposite to normal.
For example

山を高く登れば登るほど気温が下がる。
yama wo takaku nobore ba noboru hodo kion ga sagaru
The higher you climb, the lower temperature is.

日本語を専門すれば専門するほどむずかしくなります。
nippongo wo semmon sure ba semmon suru hodo muzukashiku nari masu
The more you study, the harder Japanese is.

深く潜れば潜るほど圧力が大きくなる。
fukaku mogure ba moguru hodo atsuryoku ga ohkiku naru
The deeper you dive, the higher the pressure is.

高い位置に上昇すればするほど責任が大きくなる。
takai ichi ni joushou sure ba suru hodo sekinin ga ohkiku naru
The more you get promoted, the higher responsibility you will bear.

食べれば食べるほどおなかがおなかがへる。
tabere ba taberu hodo onaka ga onaka ga heru
The more we eat, the hungrier we feel.
