Formation :

Vます(ます)+たいとおもう

Meaning and how to use :

Describing the speaker’s wishes and aspirations. This is a softer, more polite way of saying 「~たい」. When you want to be more polite, you can use 「存 じます」.

Examples:

1. 彼女にとても会いたいと思う。
Kanojo ni totemo aitai to omou.
I really want to meet her.

2. 日本に旅行したいと思う。
Nihon ni ryokou shitai to omou.
I really want to travel to Japan.

3. パリに一度行きたいと思う。
Pari ni ichido ikitai to omou.
I want to go to Paris once.

4. 私は彼に幸せにさせたいと思います。
Watashi wa kare ni shiawaseni sa setai to omoimasu.
I want to make him happy.

5. 一人で暮らしたいと思う。
Hitori de kurashitai to omou.
I want to live alone.

Note: The structure ~ たい is a bit childlike, not suitable for adults, so in a formal context, use いとおも う 」.
