Exercise 1: Listen and answer the questions
Question :
1. あなたの 国で 日本語を 勉強する 人は これから 増えそうですか、減りそうですか。
Anata no kuni de nihongo o benkyou suru hito wa korekara fue soudesuka, heri soudesuka.
Does the number of people learning Japanese in your country seem to increase or to decrease from now on?
2. 日本の 円は これから 高く なりそうですか、安くなりそうですか。
Nihon no en wa korekara takaku nari soudesuka, yasuku nari soudesuka.
Does the Japanese yen seem to be more expensive or cheaper in the future?
3. 買って 来た シャツの サイズが 合わなかったら、どうしますか。
Katte kita shatsu no saizu ga awanakattara, doushimasuka.
If the shirt you bought doesn’t fit you, what should you do?
Answer :
1. 増えそうです。
Fue soudesu.
It seems to increase.
2. 安く なりそうです。
Yasuku nari soudesu.
It seems to be cheaper.
3. 買った 店で 取り替えて もらいます。
Katta mise de torikaete moraimasu.
I will have it replaced at the store where I bought it.

きょう みんなに「うれしそうだね」と 言われた。きのう あけみさんが 僕と 結婚すると 言って くれた。幸せだ。

Suzuki’s diary
February 2 (Sunday)
It has been snowing since morning. It looked cold outside, so I was at home all day. Since I was free, I tried to call Takahashi but he wasn’t at home. Then I remembered that he was going skiing.
April 13 (Sunday)
I went to a wedding of a university friend. And I met Akemi Watanabe there. I thought she was a nice person.
June 21 (Saturday)
It has been raining since morning. I went to Akemi’s birthday party and brought roses that she likes. Akemi looked happy. When I went home, I tried to say to her, “Would you like to go for a drive with me next time?”. And she said, “Yes”.
November 17 (Monday)
Today, everyone told me that I looked happy. Yesterday, Akemi told me that she would marry me. I’m so happy.
Answer :

Akemi is a university friend of Suzuki.
