Exercise 1: Listen and answer the questions

With this exercise, first you need to listen to the question and write down what you have listened and then answer the question according to your own understanding. You should not try to focus on clearly listening to each word of a sentence then missing the following sentences. You should listen it for the first time, answer the questions one by one, with the questions you can’t listen then listening to them the second time. After that, you can listen again and copy the words to improve your listening skill and remember words better. Finally, after listening and answering all questions, you can refer to the translation and the answer below.

Translation :

With this exercise, the listeners will listen to the conversation, then there will be a key point about the problem that will be praised in the conversation. The listeners must choose whether the content is true or false according to what they have listened. If it is true, choose 〇 (maru), and if it is false, choose ✖ (batsu). In this listening section, you should pay attention to the concluding sentence to see whether that sentence is given in a positive or negative form in order to avoid being “tricked” when listening.

Exercise 3: Complete the sentence

「わたしは　暇な　とき　よく　山に　登ります。」
I often climb the mountain when I am free.

I like climbing the mountain.

Exercise 5: Fill in the blank with the appropriate particle

Translation and answer

Shizuka and Asuka.

Shizuka and Asuka are twin sisters. They are now in 5th grade. Their faces are really similar, but the personality is quite different.

The elder sister Shizuka is quiet and gentle. She likes reading books and taking care of dogs. She especially likes foreign novels, and whenever reading a book, she will forget the time.

The younger sister Asuka likes playing outside. She always gets about 50 points in tests, but she is the fastest runner in the class. And even if she has a fight with a boy, she won’t lose.

When buying something, the one who carefully thinks before buying is Shizuka. As for Asuka, if she wants it, she will buy it immediately no matter what it is.

It’s strange that the personality of two people who were born on the same day from the same parents and live in the same house is so different.
