3. Grammar

Nがほしいです。

Meaning: want something or someone

Usage: Use to indicate a wish to have something or someone

ほしい is  Adj い.

Example::

車がほしいです。
Kuruma ga hoshii desu.
I want a car.

いま、 あなた は なに が ほしい です か
Ima, anata wa nani ga hoshii desuka?
What do you want now?

わたし は パン が ほしい です
Watashi wa pan ga hoshii desu.
I want a bread.

Vます ( take off ます) +たいです。

Meaning : want to do something

Usage: Use to indicate the wish of speaker or to ask the wish of the other people

たい is Adj い. Therefore, in the case of using the particle [を], it can be replaced by the particle [が]. The tense is the same as Adj い.

たい is not used for ある.

Note: 

[ほしい] and [たいです] cannot be used to express the desire of the 3rd person

These two sentences are also not used to invite listeners to use something or do something

Example::

私は日本へ行きたいです。|
Watashi wa nihon e ikitai desu.
I want to go to Japan.

くつをかいたいです。
Kutsu wo kaitai desu.
I want to buy a pair of shoes.

おなかがいたいですから、なにもたべたくないです。
Onaka ga itai desukara, nanimo tabetakunai desu.
Because I have a pain in my stomach, I don’t want to eat anything

N(place) へ+ N/V( take off ます) に行きます/来ます/帰ります。

Meaning: Go/arrive/go back to somewhere to do something

Usage: Nouns/ Verbs-[ます] (take off ます) is placed before the particle [に] to indicate the purpose of [いきます/ きます / かえります]. The particle に is used to indicate the purpose of the action.
Nouns that are placed before [に] must be action noun.

Example::

日本へ買い物に行きます。
Nippon e kaimono ni ikimasu.
I go to Japan to go shopping.

わたしはにほんへにほんご をべんきょうしに いきたいです
Watashi wa nihon e nihongo o benkyoushi ni ikitai desu.
I want to go to Japan to study Japanese.

N1 に(で) N2 を V

Meaning: do something at  a time/at somewhere

Example::

7時(じ)にうちを出(で)ます。
7 ji ni uchi o demasu.
I go out at 7 o’clock.

Noun + に + Verb/ Noun を Verb

Usage : In this sentence, the particle [に ] is used with [はいります], [のります] to indicate the destination.

Example:

あのきっさてんにはいりましょう。
Ano kissaiten ni hairimashou.
Let’s get into that coffee shop.

どこか/なにか

Meaning:

[どこか] : somewhere
[なにか] : something

Usage: we can remove へ、を afterどこか/なにか

Example::

のどがかわきましたから、なにか(を)のみたいです。
Nomi ga kawakimashita kara, nani ka (o) nomitadesu.
I’m thirsty, I want to drink something!

冬休みにどこか「へ」行きたいです
Fuyuyasumi ni dokoka e ikitaidesu.
I want to go somewhere for winter vacation.

おなかがすいたので、何か「を」食べたいです。
Onakaga suita node, nanni ka wo tabetai desu.
Because I’m hungry, I want to eat something.

ご注文(ちゅうもん)

Meaning: Order

Usage: This is the sentence that serves often ask customers. We add ご to express polite attitude.

Example::

ご注文は
Go chuumon wa
What do you want to order?

 4. Kaiwa 

別々にお願いします
Betsubetsu ni onegaishimasu

山田: もう12時ですよ。昼ごはんを食べに行きませんか。
Yamada: Mou 12-jidesu yo. Hiru gohan o tabe ni ikimasen ka.

ミラー: ええ。
Mira: Ee.

山田: どこへ行きますか。
Yamada: Doko e ikimasuka?

ミラー: そうですね。きょうは日本料理が食べたいですね。
Mira: Soudesu ne. Kyou wa nihonryouri ga tabetaidesu ne.

山田: じゃ、「つるや」へ行きましょう。
Yamada: Ja,`tsuru ya’ e ikimashou.

店の人: ご注文は?
Mise no hito: Go chuumon wa?

ミラー: わたしは天ぷら定食。
Mira: Watashi wa tenpura teishoku.

山田: わたしは牛どん。
Yamada: Watashi wa gyuudon.

店の人: 天ぷら定食と牛どんですね。少々お待ちください。
Mise no hito: Tenpura teishoku to ushi dondesu ne. Shoushou omachi kudasai.

店の人: 1,680円でございます。
Mise no hito: 1,680 yen de gozaimasu.

ミラー: すみません。別々にお願いします。
Mira: Sumimasen. Betsubetsu ni onegaishimasu.

店の人: はい、天ぷら定食は980円で、牛どんは700円です。
Mise no hito: Hai, tenpura teishoku wa 980-en de, ushi don wa 700-endesu.

Translation:

Please split the bill.

Yamada: It’s already 12 o’clock. Shall we have lunch together?

Miller: Certainly.

Yamada: Where will we go to eat?

Miller: Let me see. Today I want to eat Japanese food.

Yamada: Then, let’s go to “Tsuruya”.

……………………………………………………………………………….

Waiter: What do you want to order?

Miller: Tempura set meal, please.

Yamada: The beef bowl for me, please.

Waiter: Tempura set meal and beef bowl, right? Please wait a moment.
……………………………………………………………………………………

Waiter: It is 1,680 yen.

Miller: Excuse me. Please split the bill.

Waiter: Alright. Tempura set meal is 980 yen and beef bowl is 700 yen.
