Express the meaning “Along the change in the first clause, there’s another change in the 2nd”. it’s often use for big chance, used less for peronal chance.

For example

地球温暖化に伴って、北極と南極の氷が溶けています。
Chikyuu ondan ka ni tomonatte, hokkyoku to nankyoku no koori ga toke te i masu.
Along with the global climate changes, ice in North pole and South pole begins to melt.

人口が増えているのに伴って、食料や生活のクオリティなどと言う問題が難しくなっている。
jinkou ga fue te iru no ni tomonatte, shokuryou ya seikatsu no kuoriti nado to iu mondai ga muzukashiku natte iru.
Together with the increasing of population, problems of food, life quality, ect. are become more and more difficult.

景気がだんだん低迷になるのに伴い、失業率が上がっている。
keiki ga dandan teimei ni naru no ni tomonai, shitsugyou ritsu ga agatte iru.
Along with the decline of the economy, the rate of unemployer is rising.

森を破壊することに伴って、動物の種類が減っています。
mori o hakai suru koto ni tomonatte, doubutsu no shurui ga hette i masu.
Deforestation is happening along with the decrease of animal types.

冬が近づくのに伴って、天気がだんだん寒くなる。
fuyu ga chikaduku no ni tomonatte, tenki ga dandan samuku naru.
Along with the coming of winter, climate is colder and colder.

Note:
This way of saying is mostly used in writtings.
+) に伴い is a more formal, polite form of に伴って.
+) に伴う+N is the structure indicating how to combine with nouns of に伴って
