Meaning and how to use :

Describe a change followed by another change. This structure is used to bring up extensive change and rarely used with personal changes.

For example

1. 最近調査によると温暖化に伴って北極と南極の氷が解けられました。
Saikin chousa ni yoru to ondan ka ni tomonatte hokkyoku to nankyoku no koori ga tokerare mashi ta.
According to recent research, along with global warming, ice at North pole and South pole is melting.

2. インタネットが普及に伴って、子供たちはいつも電話の画面を見てばかりいることになっている。
intanetto ga fukyuu ni tomonatte, kodomo tachi ha itsumo denwa no gamen o mi te bakari iru koto ni natte iru.
As the Internet is universalized, children are glued to mobile phone screen.

3. 経済の回復に伴って、失業率が減っていた。
keizai no kaifuku ni tomonatte, shitsugyou ritsu ga hette i ta.
Together with the recovery of the economy, unemployment rate is going down.

4. 地球の人口が増えるのに伴って、いろいろな悪い影響が発生します。
chikyuu no jinkou ga fueru no ni tomonatte, iroiro na warui eikyou ga hassei shi masu.
Many bad effects arised due to population growth.

5. いきなり太るのに伴って、いろいろな病気がかかるかもしれませんよ。
ikinari futoru no ni tomonatte, iroiro na byouki ga kakaru kamo shire mase n yo.
Getting fast suddenly can result in many deseases.

Note: In this way of speak, the two clause usually go with word expressing change. This structure is solemn and is used in writen language.
