Meaning and how to use :

Describe the surprise, exclamatory, amazement at something.

Example:

そんなに重い荷物でも彼女は一人で運べる。なんという立派な女だ。
Sonna ni omoi nimotsu demo kanojo ha hitori de hakoberu. Nantoiu rippa na onna da.
She can carry such a heavy luggage by herself. What a wonderful woman.

何ということだろう。一人でこんなに広い家に住んでいるの。
Nantoiu koto darou. HItori de konna ni hiroi ie ni sundeiru no.
What? That is so great to live in such a large house alone.

あの人は一人で5人も倒せる。なんという偉いな人だ。
Anohito ha hitori de gonin mo taoseru. Nantoiu erai na hito da.
That person can defeat 5 people alone. What a great person.

何ということだろう。君は私に手紙を渡すために3キロメートルも走しるなんて。
nantoiu koto darou. Kimi ha watashi ni tegami wo watasu tame ni sankirome-toru mo hahsiru nante.
That’s so great. You run 3 kilometers just to give me a letter.

何という上手な人だ。こんなに難しい折り紙が出来るんだ。
Nantoiu jouzu na hito da. Konna ni muzukashii ori gami ga dedkirunda.
What an amazing person. He/she can make such difficult origami.
