Expressing the speculation about something unknown to the speaker. The following words are often like「そうだ」、「ようだ」、「らしい」.

Examples:

あそこに踊っている人はどうやら砂糖さんそうだ。
Asoko ni odotte iru hito wa douyara satou-san souda.
The person dancing over there might be be Miss Sato.

彼の顔が悪いです。どうやら何か脅かされたようだ。
Kare no kao ga waruidesu. Douyara nani ka obiyakasa reta youda.
His face looks bad. Perhaps he has been threatened with something.

あの人はどうやら私に会いたくないようだ。
Ano hito wa douyara watashi ni aitakunai youda.
Probably he didn’t want to see me.

僕はどうやら運が悪そうだ。何もすると失敗になります。
Boku wa douyara un ga waru souda. Nani mo suru to shippai ni narimasu.
I seem to be unlucky. Now matter what I do, I still fail.

有希ちゃんはどうやら何か不満のことがあるようだ。
Yukichan wa douyara nanika fuman no koto ga aru youda.
Yuki seems to be dissatisfied with something.
