Meaning and how to use :

Expresses the meaning “the speaker sees a truth and realized that the present results from it”. Usually used with confirmative words or words indicating approval.

For example

A:「彼はイタリアに5年も住んでいたよ」
kare ha itaria ni nen mo sun de i ta yo
B:「だから、イタリアの料理がよく分かっているのだね」
da kara itaria no ryouri ga yoku wakatu te iru no da ne
A: “He’s been living in Italy for 5 years”
B: “So he knows full well about Italian food, right?”

田中さんが運動大会に参加するつもりか。だから、彼が最近よく体力を鍛え上げているね。
tanaka san ga undou taikai ni sanka suru tsumori ka dakara kare ga saikin yoku tairyoku wo kitaeage te iru ne
Mr Tanaka is about to join the sport competition? That’s why recently he practiced so much.

A:「私の専門が歴史だよ。」
watakushi no semmon ga rekishi da yo
B:「だから、君は難しくて歴史に関する質問でも答えられるのだね」
da kara kimi ha muzukashiku te rekishi nikansuru shitsumon de mo kotae rareru no da ne
A: “History is my specialty”
B: “So you can answer hard questions relating to history right?”

来月、アメリカに留学するつもりです。だから、今から英語を一所懸命勉強しているのだ。

Next month I will study abroad in America. That’s why I’m trying my best to learn English.

結婚するつもりです。だから、ふさわしい相手を探しているわけです。
kekkon suru tsumori desu dakara fusawashii aite wo sagashi te iru wake desu
I’m going to get married. Therefore, I’m looking for the right person.

Note: In spoken language, this structure language is often used when the speaker realizes it upon the partner’s speak . Stress which is put in the first syllable of「だから」is pronounced strongly with long breathe.
