Describe the meaning “every…”

Example:

東京行きの電車は30分おきに来ます。
Toukyou yuki no densha ha sanjuppun oki ni kimasu.
The trains going to Tokyo come every 30 minutes.

試験のとき15分おきに経ったと先生は報告します。
Shiken no toki 15 fun okini tatta to sensei ha houkoku shimasu.
When taking the exam, the teacher will report every 15 minutes passing.

この運動大会は一年おきに開かれます。
Kono undou taikai ha ichinen oki ni kakaremasu.
This athletic meet is held every year.

バスは10分おきに出ている。
Basu ha juppun oki ni deteiru.
The bus leaves every 10 minutes.

四年おきにオリンピックが開催される。
Yonnen okini orinpikku ga kaisai sareru.
Olympic is held every four years.

Note: If the mentioned things line up, the structure refers to the distance. If it’s just a part of the span of time/distance, it could be replaced with「ごとに」.  However, when the quantifier is “one”, using 「ごとに」instead of 「おきに」will make the meaning change.
