Describing an event reach a extreme level, the result of this event that occurred later is not a good result.

Examples:

怒るあまりについイノセントな息子を激しく叱った。
Okoru amari ni tsui inosentona musuko wo hageshiku shikatta.
I was so angry that I scolded my innocent son.

心配のあまり、お母さんは息子が死んだほど泣きました。
Shinpai no amari, okaasan wa musuko ga shinda hodo nakimashita.
The mother was so worried that she cried as if her son had died.

寂しさのあまり、彼女は自殺した。
Sabishisa no amari, kanojo wa jisatsu shita.
Because of the loneliness, she committed suicide.

消極的な映画を見てばかりいるあまりに消極的に行動し始めた少年が多いです。
Shougyokutekina eiga o mite bakari iru amari ni shougyokuteki ni koudou shi hajimeta shounen ga ooidesu.
Because of watching negative movies, many teenagers acted negatively.

ゲームに夢中するあまりに目がひどく悪くなる人もいます。
Geimu ni muchuu suru amari ni me ga hidoku waruku naru hito mo imasu.
Being too obsessed with games makes your eyes worse.
