6. 手が出ない – Not able to afford.
For example:
僕の給料ではこの車はとても手が出ない。
Bokuno kyuuryoudeha konokurumaha totemo tegadenai.
→ I can’t afford this car with my income.
7.手がない – There is no one to do it, there is no other way
For example:
電話がなければ行って話よりほかに手がない。
Denwaga nakereba itte hanashiyorihokani teganai.
→ Without a phone, you have to go there, there is no other way.
8.手が回らない – Unable to take care of or care about.
For example:
暑いのにビールも出さないなんて、気がきかない人だなあ
atsuinoni bi-rumo dasanainante, kiga kikanaihitodana
→ It’s so hot but they don’t offer beer. How inconsiderate!
9.手取り足取り – To teach someone wholeheartedly
For example:
兄に車の運転を手取り足取り教えてもらった。
Anini kurumano untenwo teroriashitori oshietemoratta.
→ My brother teaches me to drive very carefully.
10. 手に入れる – To receive, get.
For example:
いくら出してもいいから、あの絵を手に入れたい。
Ikura dashitemo iikara, ano e wo teniiretai.
→ Now matter how much it costs, I still want to have the painting.
