JLPT N2 Grammar lesson 7. Hi everyone! In this article, LearnJapanesedaily will introduce to you the JLPT N2 Grammar. Each lesson will consist of about 5 structures for you to learn step by step and have more time to practise.

Structure 31:

V ( minus ます) → V抜く

Explanation:

To finish V till the end (To emphasize the effort to overcome hardships).

For example:

私は国の平和を守り抜く。
Watashi wa kuni no heiwa wo mamorinuku.
I will protect the peace of the nation till the end.

今、彼らは困り抜いている。
Ima, karera wa komarinuite iru.
They are in great trouble now.

Structure 32:

Vない/ Vている/ A/ Nの + うちに

Explanation:

While, in the occasion of.

For example:

彼女の話を聞いているうちに、眠ってしまった。
Kanojo no hanashi wo kiite iru uchi ni, nemutte shimatta.
I fell asleep while listening to her story.

気がつかないうちに夕方になっていた。
Ki ga tsukanai uchi ni yuugata ni natte ita.
It was evening before I knew it.

Structure 33:

Vるか Vないかのうちに

Explanation:

Around (time, not specified), just…

For example:

食事が終わるか終わらないかのうちに、妹はテレビを見た。
Shokuji ga owaru ka owaranai ka no uchi ni, imouto wa terebi wo mita.
My sister watched TV right after the meal.

布団に入るか入らないかのうちに眠ってしまう。
Futon ni hairu ka hairanai ka no uchi ni nemutte shimau.
I fall asleep right after covering up myself with a blanket.

Structure 34:

Vる/VないAい/Aくな Aな/Aである + 限りNである

Explanation:

As long as ~ still, if.

For example:

元気な限り、一生懸命働きたいです。
Genkina kagiri, isshoukenmei hatarakitai desu.
As long as I’m healthy, I’m willing to work hard.

私は生きている限り、あなたのことを守ります。
Watashi wa ikite iru kagiri, anata no koto wo mamorimasu.
I will protect you as long as I live.

Structure 35:

Vる/Vた/Vている + 限り(では)

Explanation:

According to.

For example:

私の知っている限りでは、彼女は優しい人だ。
Watashi no shitte iru kagiri dewa, kanojo wa yasashii hito da.
As far as I know, she is a kind person.
