JLPT N2 Grammar lesson 6. Hi everyone! In this article, LearnJapanesedaily will introduce to you the JLPT N2 Grammar. Each lesson will consist of about 5 structures for you to learn step by step and have more time to practise.

Structure 26:

V (minus ます) → Vがい

Explanation:

worth to do something.

For example:

この小説は読みがいがある。  
Kono shousetsu wa yomigai ga aru.
This novel is worth reading. 

見がいのある映画。
Migai no aru eiga.
A worthwhile movie.

Structure 27:

Vてまで(も)Nまで Vて

Explanation:

To the point ~ / Even ~ (to show something extreme)

For example:

私は親のお金を盗んでまで漫画を買いたくない。
Watashi wa oya no okane wo nusunde made manga wo kaitakunai.
I don’t want to buy manga to the point that I steal my parents’ money.

親にうそをついてまで遊びに行きたくない。
Oya ni uso o tsuite made asobi ni ikitakunai.
I don’t want to go out to the point that I lie to my parents.

Structure 28:

V ( minus ます) → Vかける/ VかけのN/ Vかけだ。

Explanation:

In the middle of doing something.

For example:

読みかけの新聞を電車に忘れた。
Yomikake no shinbun wo densha ni wasureta.
I forgot the half-finished newspaper on the train. 

晩ごはんを食べかけて眠ってしまった。
Ban gohan wo tabekakete nemutte shimatta.
I fell asleep when I was in the middle of having dinner.

Structure 29:

V ( minus ます) → V切る/ V切れる

Explanation:

Have done ~ / finished doing something.

For example:

厚い本を一気に読み切った。
Atsui hon wo ikki ni yomikitta.
I read the thick book all at once.

今月の給料を使い切ってしまった。
Kongetsu no kyuuryou wo tsukaikitte shimatta.
I spent all my salary for this month.

Structure 30:

V ( minus ます) → Vえる/ Vえない/ Vうる

Explanation:

Able to do V/ It’s possible for V to happen.

For example:

彼女が嘘をつくことはありえない。
Kanojo ga uso wo tsuku koto wa arienai.
I can’t believe that she tells lies.

誰でもミスをし得る。
Dare demo misu wo shieru.
Anyone can make a mistake.
