Nでなくともよい
Aな+でなくともよい
Aい+くなくともよい
Vない(remove い)+なくともよい

Meaning and how to use :

Describe the meaning “no need/dont have to…”. In case it goes with verb “する” it can turn into “せずともよい”

For example

父母は子供のことをいつも心配しなくともよい。
Chichihaha ha kodomo no koto o itsumo shinpai shi naku tomo yoi.
Parents dont’t always have to worry about children.

首相はこんなに小さい事件を気にかけなくともよいです。
shushou ha konnani chiisai jiken o ki ni kake naku tomo yoi desu.
The Prime minister doesn’t need to solve such problems.

明日、会議に参加に行かなくともよいですよ。
ashita, kaigi ni sanka ni ika naku tomo yoi desu yo.
No need to go to the meeting tomorrow.

会長はここにまだいらっしゃいますから、電気を消しなくともよいです。
kaichou ha koko ni mada irasshai masu kara, denki o keshi naku tomo yoi desu.
Our director is still here, no need to turn of the light.

一緒に来なくともよいです。一人でいいです。
issho ni ko naku tomo yoi desu. Ichi nin de ii desu.
You don’t need to follow me. I can go alone.

Note: Formal, used less in informal cases . “なくともよい” is the way of speaking that has writing style of “なくてもいい”
