Meaning and how to use :

Describe the existence of unmoving things.

For example

本棚に本がある。
Hondana ni hon ga aru.
there are books on the shelf.

ペンやノートなどがあります。
pen ya nōto nado ga ari masu.
There are pens, notebooks, etc.

あそこにかばんがあります。
asoko ni kaban ga ari masu.
There’s a bag there.

私は大きい傘があります。
watashi ha ookii kasa ga ari masu.
I have a car.

彼は車の雑誌があります。
kare ha kuruma no zasshi ga ari masu.
He has magazine about car.

Note: When we want to describe the position, place of the mentioned object we use “NにNがあります” (like example 1, 3)
