Vてやる

Meaning and how to use :

Describe the meaning that is the speaker does something for another object (it can be plant or animal). In some cases it’s used to express anger by doing things the listener doesn’t like.

For example

私は犬に散歩してやる。
Watashi ha inu ni sanpo shi te yaru.
I take my dog out for a walk (do it for the dog’s favor).

子どもに絵本を読んでやりました。
kodomo ni ehon o yon de yari mashi ta.
I read book to the children.

いつか2歳の弟にお菓子を買ってやる。
itsuka ni sai no otouto ni okashi o katte yaru.
Some times I will by buy two-year-old brother sweet.

俺は今度だけ宿題を助けてやるよ。
ore ha kondo dake shukudai o tasuke te yaru yo.
I help you to do the excercise this time only.

そんなに紙をバラバラにしたなんて…ぜひ今日あの子に叱ってやる。
sonnani kami o barabara ni shi ta nante? zehi kyou ano ko ni shikatte yaru.
Look at that tore paper sheets… I must scold that child.

Note : this structure can also express the meaning : doing something to someone that he/she doesn’t like, to express anger (like example 5)
