Meaning and how to use :

Describe the meaning: Ask someone to do something “want the listener to do something”. This is a soft asking.

For example

今日は学校を休みますから、重心の情報をメモしてほしいんだけれど。
Kyou ha gakkou o yasumi masu kara, juushin no jouhou o memo shi te hoshii n da keredo.
I was absent today, so can you note down for me the important information.

今は忙しいので、私にかわって、社長に仕事の進度を報告してほしいんだけれど。
ima ha isogashii node, watashi ni kawatte, shachou ni shigoto no shindo o houkoku shi te hoshii n da keredo.
I’m busy nơ, so can you, in place of me, report the progress of the work to the director?

今度の出張を行ってほしいんだけれど。
kondo no shucchou o okonatte hoshii n da keredo.
Please be my replacement in this business trip.

今度だけ助けてほしいんだけれど。
kondo dake tasuke te hoshii n da keredo.
Please help me this time only

あの絵を掛けてほしいんだけど。ちょっと高いところですね。
ano e o kake te hoshii n da kedo. Chotto takai tokoro desu ne.
Please help me to hang that picture. It’s too high for me.
