1. To describe the speaker’s guess/speculation. maybe

Kaneko san ga matsumoto san no koto ga suki na no kamo shire nai.
Maybe Kaneko likes Matsumoto.

その遊園地のゲームが楽しいかもしれない。
sono yuuen chi no gēmu ga tanoshii kamo shire nai.
Games in that entertainment center seems interesting.

あの人は松本さんの恋人かもしれない。
ano hito ha matsumoto san no koibito kamo shire nai.
That man can be Matsumoto’s lover.

電気を消さなかったかもしれない。
denki o kesa nakatta kamo shire nai.
The light hasn’t been apperantly turned off.

窓を閉めなかったかもしれない。
mado o shime nakatta kamo shire nai.
I might not have to window closed.
