Meaning and how to use :

Describe strong negotiation, prohibition, mean “absolutely not…”. Usually used with negative form.

For example

こんなこと僕は決してできないよ。
Konna koto boku ha kesshite deki nai yo.
I’m absolutely not able to do that.

そんな高い家は決して買えない。
sonna takai ie ha kesshite kae nai.
This house is too expensive, it’s absolutely impossible for me to buy.

調査によると、大阪は決してそんなに寒くない。
chousa ni yoru to, oosaka ha kesshite sonnani samuku nai.
According to the investigation, Osaka can not be cold like that.

彼は決していつも嘘をつかない人でない。
kare ha kesshite itsumo uso o tsuka nai hito de nai.
He’s determined not a person who always lies.

道を渡ると決して注意しないので、車にぶつかれました。
michi o wataru to kesshite chuui shi nai node, kuruma ni butsukare mashi ta.
When I crossed the road, I absolutely was unattentive, so I got hit by a car.
