Meaning and how to use :

“Seemingly/ apparently” to express one’s opinion/feeling. It’s also used to describe the meanings “don’t judge the book by its cover”

Ex:

彼女は何か心配するように見える。
Kanojo ha nani ka shinpai suru you ni mieru.
She looked worried about something

あの子は優しいように見えるが、実はとても生意気ですよ。
ano ko ha yasashii you ni mieru ga, jitsuha totemo namaiki desu yo.
That kid seems timid but actually he is very arrogant.

彼女はうれしいように見えるが、化粧をして憂鬱な顔を隠しますよ。
kanojo ha ureshii you ni mieru ga, keshou o shi te yuuutsu na kao o kakushi masu yo.
She looks happy, but she just made up to hide the gloomy face

このダイヤモンドは偽物のように見えるね。
kono daiyamondo ha nisemono no you ni mieru ne.
This diamond looks like a fake one

佐藤先生は若くて、学生のように見えるね。
satou sensei ha wakaku te, gakusei no you ni mieru ne.
Ms. Satou is young and looks like a student
