Meaning and how to use :

Express the meaning “someone have something done by other”. If the person recieving the action is at the same rank with or close to the speaker, that utterance becomes impolite because it seem like you’re imposing someone.

For example

姉は私に宿題をやってあげました。
Ane ha watashi ni shukudai o yatte age mashi ta.
My sister has done the excercise for me.

彼を今度許してあげませんか。
kare o kondo yurushi te age mase n ka.
Should we forgive hime?

どうでも彼女は君のいとこじゃないか。助けてあげたらどう?
dou demo kanojo ha kimi no itoko ja nai ka. Tasuke te age tara dou?
Anyway it’s your cousin. How about helping it?

クラス長は私に「愛」の漢字言葉の意味を説明してあげる。
kurasu chou ha watashi ni ‘ai’ no kanji kotoba no imi o setsumei shi te ageru.
The monitor please, can you explain the meaning of Chinese word “Ai”

この荷物が重いので、隣の人に持ってあげました。
kono nimotsu ga omoi node, tonari no hito ni motte age mashi ta.
This luggage is so heavy, so I help my neighbor to keep it.

Note:
+) in speaking language, is used to be changed to 「Vたげる」
