Meaning and how to use :

“in progress of doing something”. There are cases that conscious action is halfdone, there are also cases that unconscious action is halfdone.
For example

この瓶は私の飲みかけのビールだ。
Kono bin wa watashi no nomi kake no bīru da.
I am drinking beer in this can.

冷蔵庫に食べかけの料理を入れた。
reizōko ni tabekake no ryōri o ire ta.
I put the partially eaten food into the frigde.

この編みかけのマフラーができると、彼氏にあげる
kono ami kake no mafurā ga dekiru to, kareshi ni ageru
if the sweater that I’m knitting is done, i will give it to my boyfriend.

今日学校から家に帰りかけの時、進路を変える。
kyō gakkō kara ie ni kaerikake no toki, shinro o kaeru.
Today when i was on the road home, I changed the route.

テレビを見かけの時、何に言われても気をつけない。
terebi o mikake no toki, nani ni iware te mo ki o tsuke nai.
When I am watching TV, whatever other say I will ignore.
