Formation :

Numeral/ なん/いく+とおり

Meaning and how to use :

1. Describe quantity, method or how someone do something.
Used with combination: Numeral/ なん/いく+とおり

For example

Kono suugaku no shukudai o kaiketsu ha ikutsu toori ga aru.
There are several ways to solve this math homework.

koko kara shuto no chuushin made iku ni ha nanto ori mo aru.
There are many way to go from here to capital city

yarikata ha itsutsu toori ga aru node, hitotsu erabinasai.
Among 5, you should choose one method.

2. Means ”as”, ”like” what とおりmentioned.
Used with combination: Vる/Vた+とおり

For example

kono hon ni kaku toori ni yatte kudasai.
Do as what is writen in this book.

boku no iu toori ni koudou suru.
Let’s do what i say.

asoko no shiroi biru made annai sare ta toori ni iku.
Go to that white building as what we were directed.
