Using the auxiliary verbs から in Japanese. In Japanese, there are many auxiliary verbs that are used frequently such as: を、が、は、も…  These words are commonly used in daily conversations.

Using the auxiliary verb から

1. Used to indicate time and place the action taking place.

窓から車の音が入ってきた。

まどからくるまのおとがはいってきた。
mado kara kuruma no oto ga haitte kita.

→ The car noise coming through the windows.

授業は7時から始まった。
じゅぎょうは7じからはじまった。
jugyou ha shichi ji kara hajimatta.

→ The class has already started since 7 a.m.

2. Used to indicate reasons and causes.

Tを休んだのは気分が悪かったから。

がっこうをやすんだのはきぶんがわるかったから。
gakkou wo yasunda no ha kibun ga warukatta kara.

→ I took a day off from school because I don’t feel so well.

3. Used to indicate the material the object made of/from.

紙は木造から作られます。

かみはもくぞうからつくられます。
kami ha mokuzou kara tsukuraremasu.

→ Paper is made from trees.

4. Used to indicate the continuation of activities.

ごはんを食べてから学校へ行きました。
あさごはんをたべてからがっこうへいきました。
asagohan wo tabetekara gakkou e ikimashita.

→ I had breakfast then went to school.

 5. Used to show a certain period of time has passed.

日本語を勉強してから2年がたった。
にほんごをべんきょうしてからにねんがたった。
nihongo wo benkyoushite kara ninen ga tatta.

→ It’s been two years since I started learning Japanese.

 6. Used in passive sentences when wanting to talk about the subject.

この曲は世界中人々から愛好されている。
このきょくはせかいじゅうひとびとからあいこうされている。
kono kyoku ha sekaijuu hitobito kara aikousareteiru.

→ The song is loved by people all over the world.

 7. Used to emphasize the quantity or quality

このコンテストには、一万からの人が参加した。
このコンテストには、いちまんからのひとがさんかした。
kono kontesuto niha, ichiman kara no hito ga sankashita.

→ More than ten thounsand people signed up for this contest.

 8. Used at the end of the sentence to show compassion with others.

遅刻ばかりしていると、クラスに入ってはいけませんから。
ちこくばかりしていると、クラスにはいってはいけませんから。
chikoku bakari shiteiruto, kurasu ni haitte ha ikemasenkara.

→ Let’s talk till late, it’s impossible to get back to class anyways.

9. Used as a habit

次から次へと問題がおきる。
つぎからつぎへともんだいがおきる。
tsugi kara tsugi eto mondai ga okiru.

→ Things keep going wrong for me.
